brood-of-froods:

i like to think that hogwarts has a really strong wi-fi signal, but like the stair cases, it keeps moving around. just muggleborns, chillin on their laptops all suddenly stand up together, dash madly to a different corner of the school, and sit down wordlessly like some kind of mind hive flock of pigeons while the purebloods are just so confused

TVLine Exclusive: Christian Camargo Joins Elementary as Joan’s Ex
One of Dexter‘s most memorable villains is looking to kill Joan Watson… with kindness.
Christian Camargo — best known for his role as Brian “Ice Truck Killer” Moser on Showtime’s late, occasionally great serial thriller — is set to guest star on Elementary as a past (and possibly future) love of Lucy Liu’s sleuth.
Camargo’s character, Chris, is Joan’s former medical colleague as well as her ex-boyfriend. He reaches out to her for help with a problem — but during the course of their association, old feelings get stirred up. (Rumor has it the two were this close to getting married back in the day.)

i think what they’re trying to do right now is bury joancroft, throw so many relationships at us we forget that throbbing pustule of ooc nonsense ever existed.

and goddamn am i willing to forget. bring on the love interests. bring on the characters who want joan to be their person because JOAN and not because “um well we’re both entangled in sherlock’s orbit let’s be star-crossed”. i wish they were less of the white male persuasion, and believe me i want the show to give joan a mom, a brother, friends who get her and appreciate her for who she is. but the romance angle was also a big part of joan’s development last season—it’s just that they put almost no effort into actually developing her through that. it was all noise to push sherlock closer to moriarty and then to MI6. this description already sounds better for joan than the entirety of her dating/outside life arc in season 2, and it’s almost assuredly a 15 minute subplot at best.

i’m just snickering at how obvious they’re making it that andrew is a complete cipher who likely won’t even be mentioned after episode 3.
